Well, so much for that one... and development updates

I had a sort of unspoken goal to blog every day...well...that didn't last long! lol  Proves that when the children wake at the crack of dawn are cranky and you're tired and you have piles of laundry and a sink full of dishes, well, blogging isn't that important.

So I've been wanting to do a develpment update because the kids are both doing so many fun new things!

Erin can now identify the sounds of most of her letters and count to 12.  We're still working on the order of the alphabet, but she'll occasionally start singing "see, bee, see, bee, see!" when one of the toys does the alphabet tune.  And it's ALMOST in tune too!  She's doing a lot of random singing too, it's so great.  She loves jumping up and down, and has started doing this galloping thing because she wants to jump and move forward too.  I recently bought a dry-erase placemat thing to teach her to write her letters since she keeps trying (she'll draw circles and call it an O, or squiggly lines and call it a W).

She's definitely getting more opinionated too.  Or maybe she's just more able to express her opinions.  She's getting better and better at 3 and 4 word sentences, she's now coming up with more on her own rather than repeating.  Makes for some interesting conversations.

I think Patrick has taken a break from his major motor skill development to work on his linguistic skills for a while.  He's saying several more syllables as well as doing things like blowing raspberries that also help.  He's also got his second word!  His first was "Mama" and he's been saying that for quite a while.  Just a couple days ago Matt walked into our bedroom after I had put Patrick in there in the pack&play for his afternoon nap, and Patrick wasn't quite asleep.  Apparently he rolled over, looked at Matt and said "Uh-duh-duh!"  He's done it several more times, only ever when Matt is around, so he officially has a name for his daddy!  YAY! So added to "buh," "guh" and "nuh" that means he's got 5 syllables!

Patrick has also started waving, and it's so cute!

Anyway, I'm having so much fun watching these two learn things.  Makes you really appreciate the work it take to grow up!
