Let it snow!!

This is what we woke up to this morning
Erin was really excited about the snow
And this is a better view of the drift on our porch

It's still snowing, and should be all day today, but tomorrow it should be in the 40s, and 50s by Sunday, so I'm betting that it'll be gone by Sunday (Monday at the LATEST).

I'm trying to decide if I should take Erin outside today. I'd just let her out on the porch if I didn't have over a foot against the door!

Fall walk

Well, since we've got a winter storm warning in effect and we're supposed to get 8-14 inches of snow between tonight and Thursday morning, I decided we should take a walk while it was warmish and dry.

Erin gets impatient when she has to wait for me to put Patrick in his stroller

This is the closest I've ever gotten to getting Patrick's scrunched-face smile on camera
Patrick was so excited to get out of the stroller and actually get to play in the gravel.
For some reason, Erin took off her shoe and started filling it with gravel.
And then Patrick decided it was time to go.
These are the last trees with leaves. Maybe they waited to turn so that they'd stand out when they did?

A bad case of the blahs

So I admit it, I've been having a hard time lately. I thinks it's sort of a depression, but not a crying/sad kind, or a suicidal kind, more an "I can't get motivated" or "I don't care" kind. Might be a medication issue, although at last test my thyroid levels came back normal.

I'm not even overly tired (though I am a little). I just have no desire to do anything. It's hard, because I don't want to feel this way. It just feels like I'm hiking up a sand dune, and I'm at the point where I don't even care about getting to the top anymore.

Blah.

((don't get too concerned, I'm sure I'll be okay in a few days))

I love how Denver does winter

So, remember this? That was 2 days ago. It went on to snow all day and all night, and we got 4 inches or so.

This was this afternoon:And this is her reaction when I made her stop playing in the snow out by the car and actually get in.

Craftiness

atrick was sleeping, so the girls got crafty!

I was making a masquerade mask for myself, and Erin was playing with her Halloween foamy stickers.

A picture is worth a thousand words...

On another note, some of Matt's coworkers have the swine flu. So if you all could please pray that the babies don't get it, it would be wonderful!

You do the mashed potato...

So I made mashed potatoes for dinner last night, and decided to give some to Patrick
And Erin decided that she didn't like what we were having so she got down and was running around like a maniac

and a bonus picture, this was just before we left for church.

Dear Cora,

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.

Love you always,

I am so in love...

...with the way Patrick wrinkles his nose and squints his eyes when he's really smiling at you.

...with the way Erin gets in moods to snuggle and she won't leave you alone until you give her kisses.

...with the way Patrick is saying "Mama" more and more like he really means me.

...with the way Erin sometimes calls Matt "Mom" but usually calls him "Dah-ee."

...with the way Patrick just has to hit something when he's excited.

...with the way that Erin just has to be motherly to Patrick.

...with the way Patrick sticks his tongue out all the time, but most especially when he's concentrating.

...with the way Erin seems to get smarter and smarter every day.

I am so in love with being a mom.

I am so in love with my children.

Halloween Costumes

Here's our trial run!

Erin's going to be a fairy. I bought her this skirt from the dollar store since she refuses to wear her tutu, but I don't think I like it, so I may go get some sheer fabric from the store and make one.
And Patrick will be the cutest puppy on the face of the planet.
Many of you have probably already seen this, but I'll post it for those who haven't:

A Walk To Remember

This morning we all went out to Clement Park to participate in the annual Walk To Remember to benefit a group that provides bereavement packages to families in hospitals. It was VERY cold, so we actually only stayed for the memorial part and didn't actually walk, but it was still a good experience anyway.

We went and got the balloons to release. Erin got one just for her, and then I got a pink one for Cora and a blue one for Lynn, Renee, and Bethany.
We had half an hour until the memorial started, so we decided to walk down to the lake and saw this goose. We could tell it was injured, and felt so bad. I really double he'll make it through the winter. We fed him a muffin. Then we gathered for the memorial and the balloon release. They had some songs and poems. One lady got up to talk about her experience, and it was SO much like mine with Cora. Had she been standing closer after she got off the stage I think I would have given her a hug. Then they started reading names and each family let go their balloons when their baby's name was read. Since I didn't register online before the deadline, Cora's name didn't get read, so I'm a little disappointed about that. But she got a balloon released for her.

Denver Zoo free day

So, yesterday the Denver Zoo had a free day, so my friend Danica and I decided to take our kids for a play date, and I think that every other woman with a double stroller in the city decided the same thing.
Near the front of the zoo we found this statue of a lizard, and they loved it. Especially when they realized that there were peacocks in the grass right next to the rocks.
Patrick spent the entire day munching on grahams in his stroller.
Erin really loved the penguins. She's been talking about them since.

Then we discovered there was a train! Neither Danica nor I knew that it was there until we heard the whistle, and well....that meant that Jensen had to go see it. Which eventually lead to riding on it. So Danica took Jensen, Lily, and Erin, and I stayed with the strollers and Patrick on the side.
The big daddy gorilla.
Showing Erin...something. I can't remember. The rhinoceros?
Lily is playing with a crane of some kind with another girl.

And the really pretty leaves.
